AP EURO—COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course covers European history from c.1300 to the present day.  It is a rigorous curriculum that will prepare students for the AP exam in May.  The course includes a great deal of reading and writing, just as a college course would.  Assessments will include quizzes, tests, DBQ’s, and projects.

IB EURO—COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is intended to provide a framework within which a broad perspective of the majors issues affecting the development of the European continent.  In addition, students are expected to develop an appreciation of history as a discipline.  The course presents a broad spectrum of modern European history.  Students will complete an internal assessment and sit for the IB exam in May.  Additional assessments will include, tests, DBQs, and projects.

HONORS WORLD HISTORY

The purpose of a World History course is to increase understanding of the past as a way of understanding the present, broaden the student’s horizons to encompass parts of the world not previously studied and encourage a life-long interest in history.  Students will be exposed to history, geography, economics and current events, among other disciplines. This course will also promote the development of writing, critical thinking, problem solving, and research skills.
