This is my ninth year teaching Spanish here at Mendham High School. I spent the summers of 2006 & 2007 at the Universidad de Granada in Spain, and am currently completing coursework for a masters degree there. During the summer of 2005 I studied at the University of Alcalá de Henares (just outside Madrid) with the NJ chapter of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. I am a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, where I obtained my bachelor’s in Spanish. I am also a member of the Foreign Language Educators of N.J. (FLENJ) and the Modern Language Association (MLA).

I assisted on Mrs. Cahill’s MHS student trips to Spain in 2004 & 2006, and previously on a student exchange trip at the middle school level to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. I have hosted two exchange students in my home— one from Mexico and the other from Spain. I highly recommend it to students as a way to broaden one’s horizons and make friends abroad!
Beginning my sixth year as co-advisor to the International Club, I am looking forward to working again this year with Miss Tammy Wubbenhorst as we introduce some immersion opportunities for our French and Spanish students.
I am blessed with two wonderful children: a daughter, studying at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, and a son who is a film student in Manhattan. |
