Mission Statement Our purpose is to spark awareness that changes hearts. The Habitat for Humanity Club works to meet compelling community needs by encouraging teen civic engagement. With local service agencies, corporations and civic-minded individuals as our partners, we link volunteers with meaningful service projects to improve and enhance our communities. How We Got Started Two former West Morris Central students, Matthew Fallon and Elizabeth Gorman, wrote a letter to Habitat for Humanity International during the spring of 2000. They asked what needed to be done to start a club at the high school. As a direct result of their enthusiasm, persistence, patience, and determination, they accomplished their goal. Today, just 6 years later, we have over 100 members. "The future of this movement lies with the young people." -Millard Fuller, founder and president of Habitat for Humanity International |
