West Morris Central High School

Spanish teacher—Señorita Bertos

About Me

Hola, my name is Courtney Bertos and I am excited to start my second year teaching at West Morris Central High School.  I am teaching one class of Spanish 1 Advanced and four classes of Spanish 3 Advanced.  I look forward to a year full of learning, excitement, and fun!

I took Spanish in high school but didn’t decide until I was in college that I wanted to teach it.  I fell in love with the language, the history, and the culture.  I was fortunate enough to spend a month in Alicante, Spain to further my studies.

I graduated in May 2006 from Rider University where I held a double major in secondary education and Spanish.  I played field hockey for the University and I am very proudly a Bronc alum. Before Rider, I graduated from Morris Knolls High School.  I played field hockey, basketball and softball for the Golden Eagles.  Now, I am still playing in field hockey in different leagues in the fall and spring through the North Jersey Field Hockey Coaches’ Association, and I play softball in the Long Valley women’s league in the spring.  I am also coaching JV field hockey and freshman girls’ basketball for WMC.
