Course Description:
The goal of this course is to familiarize students with the basic accounting cycle using traditional methods, a computerized accounting system, and a spreadsheet application (Excel). Students will connect accounting to the real world of business and their personal lives. Procedures for a sole proprietorship, partnership, and corporation will be introduced. Careers in accounting will be explored and ethics in the field of accounting will be examined using recent court cases.
